IAI’s Bedek Aviation Group Receives CAAI and FAA STCs for B767-300 Aircraft Conversion from PAX to SF Configuration

The B767-300 after conversion from passenger to freighter


Israel Aerospace Industries' Bedek Aviation Group (IAI/Bedek) received a Civil Aviation Administration of Israel (CAAI) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) on December 17, 2009 and an FAA STC on December 21, 2009 for its prototype B767-300BDSF (Bedek Special Freighter) aircraft.
 
The prototype was converted for euroAtlantic airways - transportes aéreos s.a, Portugal. euroAtlantic airways is a passenger aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance company. The B767-300BDSF conversion program was developed by Bedek for M&B Conversions of Dublin, Ireland, a joint venture company of Mitsui & Co. of Japan, and IAI/Bedek. Upon completion of the ground testing and certification program on October 27th, 2009, IAI test pilots flew the airplane for the first time, with outstanding results. Additional B767-300 aircraft are currently undergoing conversion at Bedek’s facility in Israel.
