Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Board of Directors, chaired by Dov Baharav, approved Colonel (Ret.) Shaul Shahar's nomination as MALAT Division's General Manager based on the recommendations of IAI's President & CEO, Joseph Weiss.
Col. (Ret.) Shahar replaces Col. (Ret.) Mordechai "Tommy" Silberring who acted as MALAT General Manager since 2009.
Col. (Ret.) Shaul Shahar has been acting as General Manager of Tamam Division of IAI's Missiles Systems and Space Group since 2007.
Col. Shahar joined IAI in 2004 following twenty-seven years of service with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Shahar's last position in the IDF was Commander of the Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) & Mapping Unit. He joined IAI as a Program Manager for UAV system development and in 2005 was appointed Director of Real- time Intelligence & Interpretation Centers Directorate at ELTA Systems Ltd., IAI' group and subsidiary.
Col. Shahar holds a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering (Cum Laude) from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
