The system can operate independently or as a passive component integrated with air defence radars, providing enhanced detection, classification, and a comprehensive air situation picture.
OVERVIEW
The Passive Coherent Location (PCL) System (ELK-7080) generates an air situation picture based on target reflections from non-cooperative transmissions such as FM or Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) towers. The reflections are received by one or a network of antennas, providing 3D real-time omnidirectional coverage and enabling accurate detection and tracking of multiple targets in congested airborne traffic. As a fully passive system, the PCL does not transmit and therefore does not expose its location.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Covertly detects and tracks aerial target
- Exploits analog FM broadcasting and Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) for non-cooperative aerial targets detection
- Simultaneously processes multiple FM and DAB broadcast
- Immune to jamming
Values & Benefits
The PCL system is easy to deploy and can be positioned along remote borders or within urban areas. With 360° coverage, installation can include one sensor or a cluster of sensors for redundancy and improved coverage of specific problematic areas.
Each PCL site is connected to a central command and control processing unit via a dedicated data link, enabling efficient data transmission, coordination, and centralized monitoring.
