OVERVIEW
IAI ELTA’s ELM-2055DX Airborne Ground Surveillance Radar offers all-weather SAR and GMTI capabilities across manned and unmanned platforms. Integrated with IAI ELTA’s ELS-8994 Geospatial Exploitation System (GES) or a customer’s GES, it provides a versatile solution for surveillance, target acquisition, battlefield assessment, border and asset protection, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, land management, forensic investigations, and disaster relief operations.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Delivers real-time SAR Imagery
- High Performance GMTI Capabilities
- Very Long Standoff Ranges
Values & Benefits
Successfully integrated onto various platforms such as tactical and Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs, light reconnaissance aircraft, and tethered aerostats, the ELM-2055DX delivers real-time SAR imagery, enabling wide-area surveillance (WAS) through SAR strip scanning of more than 2000 km² per hour at resolutions adequate for vehicle target detection, while also providing high-resolution SAR Spot imaging for stationary target classification.
Exceptional GMTI capabilities allow for persistent surveillance over vast areas, facilitating the detection and tracking of a large number of diverse target types across a broad velocity range.
Very long standoff ranges, up to 60 km and extendable to 80 km in the ELM-2055DL variant, enhance survivability by reducing vulnerability.
The radar’s technical specifications include a weight range of 50–58 kg (dependent on installation), a power supply of 28 Vdc, and power consumption of 800 W, with Ethernet serving as the primary radar interface. Operating in the Ku Band, the ELM-2055DX offers wide and narrow strip modes for SAR imaging, providing extensive coverage for real-time situational awareness and a precise operational picture of the ground.
