OVERVIEW
The ELM-2060P, developed by IAI ELTA, is an advanced reconnaissance system for combat aircraft that integrates a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) with Ground Moving Target Indication (GMTI) in an external pod comparable in size to a standard 300-gallon drop tank. Designed for high-resolution imaging over extensive areas, the system delivers all-weather, day-and-night operational capability, making it a critical asset for modern warfare.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Range over 170 km
- All-weather reconnaissance
- Stand-off or Stand-in (penetration) missions
- Real-time, on-board SAR imagery generation
- Long ranges and wide area coverage
- Efficient imagery exploitation and reporting
- Flexible mission planning, management and real-time mission re-tasking
- Self-sufficient autonomous system
Values & Benefits
The ELM-2060P ensures reliable performance under clouds, rain, smoke, fog, and smog. Its multimode radar functionality enables comprehensive ground area assessment for accurate target detection and classification.
The system provides long-range and wide-area surveillance suitable for stand-off and stand-in missions. It generates real-time on-board SAR imagery, supports flexible mission planning, and allows immediate re-tasking. The pod operates autonomously and is easy to install on existing combat aircraft hard points.
Different operational modes enhance versatility: Strip Mode offers fast coverage of large areas, Spot Mode delivers detailed high-resolution examination of specific sites, and Strip/GMTI Mode displays moving targets on the strip SAR image for dynamic tracking.
The system includes an onboard bi-directional datalink for real-time image transmission to a Ground Exploitation Station (GES) for IMINT analysis. Additionally, data is recorded onboard for later use or further examination.
