OVERVIEW
ThunderBullet (ELO-5220p) is a high-performance Gunfire Detection System (GDS) that provides instant detection, geo-location, and alerts for fire from small arms, snipers, machine guns, medium caliber cannons, subsonic handgun munitions, and RPGs. By combining SWIR Electro-Optics and acoustic sensors, it enables rapid identification and suppression of threats, enhancing battlefield situational awareness for units under fire.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Passive threat detection & classification
- IR & acoustic sensor integration provide quick and accurate detection
- Effective in all urban and rural outdoor environments
- Low false alarm rate, even with high ambient noise
- Minimal maintenance, no moving parts
Values & Benefits
By integrating two different sensor technologies, ThunderBullet achieves better range accuracy, low false alarm rates, and the ability to operate effectively in diverse environmental conditions, including dense, echo-rich urban areas, while shortening the sensor-to-shooter cycle. It can also automate RCWS response using slew-to-cue integration.
Part of IAI ELTA’s operationally proven OTHELLO product family, ThunderBullet’s compact design and simple interface allow easy installation on all-terrain vehicles, Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFV), Main Battle Tanks, autonomous unmanned platforms, paramilitary, and VIP vehicles.
Infantry and special forces can use the manpack version for dismounted operations, ensuring battlefield awareness is maintained even on the move.
ThunderBullet is available with IAI ELTA’s C2 system or can interface with an existing third-party C2 system, enabling seamless command and control integration.
