Instead of integrating costly sensors, they utilize “virtual” systems to provide accurately simulated operational behavior of actual Radar, EW and Weapon systems. These upgrades also include systems that support pilot training and debriefing.
OVERVIEW
IAI has successfully undertaken major F-5 upgrade and modernization programs for several air forces. These programs are divided into fighter aircraft and trainer aircraft upgrades. Based on IAI’s successful F-5 upgrade programs, Boeing selected IAI as its prime subcontractor for the USAF T-38 Talon upgrade avionics program, in which over 450 T-38 aircraft have been upgraded. The upgrade has enabled the USAF to continue to operate the T-38 in the F-16 lead-in trainer role.
