OVERVIEW
Modern battlefields are increasingly shaped by the struggle for control of the electromagnetic spectrum. Adversaries employ advanced radar systems, communications networks, drones and loitering munitions to detect, coordinate and strike friendly forces. Ground formations must detect these threats, disrupt enemy sensing and communications, and deny adversaries the ability to collect real-time intelligence.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Integrated R-ESM / R-ECM, C-ESM / C-ECM and Counter-UAS capabilities
- Detection, geolocation and analysis of radar and communication emitters
- Long-range precision electronic attack using multi-beam AESA jamming
- Counter-UAS protection against drones and loitering munitions
- Mobile vehicle-based systems supporting maneuvering ground forces
- Modular architecture enabling deployment from small EW teams to a full battalion
- Advanced command and control for mission planning and management
Values & Benefits
The EW Battalion provides ground forces with comprehensive electromagnetic operations capabilities. The battalion integrates radar electronic support and attack, communications intelligence and jamming, and counter-UAS protection into a coordinated operational framework. Deployed on mobile combat vehicles, the systems intercept, analyze and geolocate hostile emitters while enabling powerful electronic attack to disrupt enemy sensors, communications and aerial threats.
The battalion operates as a coordinated system-of-systems combining radar ESM, communications ESM, electronic attack systems and counter-UAS capabilities under a unified command and control element. This integration enables the formation of a comprehensive Situational Awareness Picture (SAP) and Electronic Order of Battle (EOB), while coordinating electromagnetic operations with maneuver forces and higher command echelons.
R-ESM (ELL-8385) – Detects, intercepts and geolocates radar emitters, including low probability of intercept (LPI) signals, enabling early warning and radar threat mapping.
R-ECM (Scorpius-G / ELL-8256SB) – High-power electronic attack system using multi-beam AESA technology to detect and simultaneously jam multiple radar threats at long range.
C-ESM (ELK-7072) – Intercepts, analyzes and geolocates enemy communications networks and datalinks, supporting communications intelligence and battlefield awareness.
C-ECM (ComJam / ELK-7009) – Multi-channel communications jamming system designed to disrupt enemy command, control and datalink networks.
Counter-UAS (DroneGuard / ELI-4030) – Detects and neutralizes unmanned aerial systems and loitering munitions, providing layered aerial protection for maneuver forces.
C2 Vehicle – Provides mission planning and real-time management of battalion EW assets, coordinating operations with higher echelons and adjacent forces.
