OVERVIEW
LAHAV Aero-Structures machining center produces high quality machined detail parts, using state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated skilled workers. The center specializes in production of complex aerospace parts, such as bulkheads, ribs, spars, longerons and skins, made of titanium, aluminum alloys, stainless steel and composites. These parts are used in support of programs at IAI.
HIGHLIGHTS

Capabilities
The Metal Center houses surface removal milling machines for mechanically reducing aircraft skins thickness, previously done using chemical milling. Mechanical milling advantages include:
- Milling, routing, drilling, inspection and quality control are performed in one location without moving the part
- Skin thickness control is maintained during the milling process
- High accuracy
- Low cycle times and labor cost
- Elimination of use of chemicals with environmental issues
- Recycling of scrapped aluminum
IAI’s Stretch Forming Center produces parts with double curvature geometry, including fuselage skins, wing leading edge segments, horizontal and vertical stabilizers leading edge panels. The state-of-the-art facilities include:
- Surface mechanical or chemical milling
- Heat treatments
- Surface treatments
- NC Trimming – Metallic and composite
- Surface coatings
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
LAHAV Aero-Structures offers in-house capabilities for the development, manufacture and testing of
landing gear systems as well as hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuators.
These capabilities include:
- Design – from concept to detail design
- Analyses – stress, kinematic, dynamic, flow and thermal analyses
- Preparation of specifications for components and systems outsourcing
- Qualification, development test plans and certification
