OVERVIEW
The IAI ELTA’s RobARC (ELA-6631) is an Autonomous IED & Route Clearance System designed to enhance safety and operational efficiency in hazardous environments. This advanced system integrates multiple payloads, including passive and active IED detection sensors, a Remote-Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS), and a manipulator, allowing it to autonomously detect and clear improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from routes.
Values & Benefits
RobARC’s capability to identify both surface and underground explosive devices at stand-off ranges is a key feature, providing forces with a crucial buffer against threats. This stand-off detection capability ensures that personnel are kept at a safe distance from potential explosions, significantly reducing the risk to human life.
Once an IED is detected, the system offers flexible response options. The operator can decide whether to remove the IED, neutralize it on-site, or simply bypass the threat, depending on the tactical situation and mission requirements. This flexibility allows for adaptive responses to emerging threats, optimizing mission success while ensuring safety.
RobARC’s integrated approach to route clearance not only secures paths for military and civilian movements but also enhances the overall tempo of operations. By automating the detection and clearance of IEDs, RobARC minimizes the downtime usually associated with manual demining processes and allows units to advance more quickly and securely in conflict zones.
