OVERVIEW
The UAS Mission Trainer (UMT) is a high-fidelity mission trainer and part of the UAS academy, aimed to replace expensive training flight-hours by providing a high training value. It was established to meet the growing demand for advanced training aids that comply with the complexity and variety of UAS missions and reduce overall training costs, addressing all UAS operational personnel at all training stages and providing singular, team and multi-team training capabilities.
HIGHLIGHTS
- High-fidelity mission trainer
- Can be used by all UAS operational personnel for training purposes.
- Proper replacement for expensive training flight-hours.
- Addresses complex ISTAR skills like, VISIN, SIGINT, Ground and maritime surveillance missions.
- Supports multiple types of UAS and payloads
Values & Benefits
The UMT is based on an Instructor Operating Station (IOS) – separated from the trainees’ area (an operational or mockup GCS) to enhance the operational experience and provide instructors with more training flexibility, an Integrated operational component to enhance realism (e.g. operational avionic components), and an Integrated state-of-the-art and off-the-shelf component to enhance the operational simulation capabilities.
The UMT’s architecture is based on modular components that may be replaced and upgraded easily, as well as on embedded standards (such as HLA and STANAG 4586) to support multi-training scenarios and integration with operational UAS elements.
UMT is IAI’s most capable UAS trainers, when earlier versions were already delivered to customers. It is also a key element in IAI’s UAS Academy.
The UMT is based on IAI’s rich experience in UAS development, operation, training and simulation and leverages knowledge gathered in many operations around the world to provide comprehensive training solution to a rapidly growing operational demand.
