During the year 2005, Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. intends to implement a new process of receiving goods in its warehouses, based upon the barcode identification technology. The transition to this method is part of the overall effort of the Corporate V.P – Procurement & Logistics organization to upgrade its purchasing process and material management, by strengthening and improving mutual relations with suppliers.
Implementation of such a procedure will require from the suppliers to attach a specific uniform barcode label to every P.O line item, in accordance with our requirements, providing identification of the item being shipped to IAI.
Specific labeling requirements regarding the barcode label content, dimensions, format, text element identifiers, bar code symbologies, print quality, label material etc. will be issued and published within the 2-3rdquarter of 2002. We will also publish a time table for implementation.
