The past year presented formidable challenges for businesses across Israel, with operational continuity being a paramount concern. For Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), resilience was underscored by the high stakes of supporting Airlines and fleet owners while expanding Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations and aircraft conversion operations., IAI keeps its ongoing support for operators’ and lessors’ business continuity.
The Challenges We Faced
Operating in an extended period of regional instability required adjustments. Personnel availability, supply chain management, and unexpected flight schedule changes all needed consideration. Despite these challenges, IAI’s unwavering commitment to meeting stringent turnaround times (TAT) faced significant pressure.

Agility and Growth
Despite these challenges, we retained all our activities in the Passenger to Cargo Conversion, aircraft engine and components MRO, and airframe maintenance and attracted new ones, particularly in the growing Asian market. Our hangars operated at maximum capacity, demonstrating our ability to meet increasing market demands. This year, our engine repair shops shifted gears, achieving the Authority’s certifications to maintain and repair modern LEAP engines, opening new growth opportunities for the near future. In the aircraft conversion operations, IAI commenced conversion operations for the 777-300ERSF program. As the STC approval is around the corner and expected in early 2025, IAI expects more conversion projects will be launched throughout our international and local sites, as the demand for airfreight has been increasing since mid-2023.
Key initiatives included:
- Global Expansion – In addition to our local operation, we established conversion sites for the 777-300ER SF in the Emirates, USA, and South Korea to tap its market potential. This global deployment provides security and stability to customers, even during geopolitical uncertainties.
- In-House Expertise – We maintain complete control over work processes by performing most of the aircraft and engine-related work in-house, ensuring the high quality we are expected to provide. This approach maximized reliability by minimizing dependency on subcontractors and allowed us to meet TAT requirements consistently.
- Program Flexibility and Innovation – Investments in leasing and exchange programs for overhauled engines gave airlines the flexibility they needed, offering cost-effective client-customized solutions.

Delivering Results
IAI upheld its commitment to business continuity through this challenging time. Production lines remained full, conversions and MRO operations continued globally, and engine repairs were delivered on time and to standards. These achievements highlight IAI’s ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances . IAI continues adjusting to meet market trends and customer needs, with continued work on developing and certifying aircraft conversion planes, jet engine maintenance and repairs, and MRO services for wide and narrow-body airplanes.
