IAI has started to use Reverse Auction Sites. On these, IAI divisional buyers display all parts intended to be purchased for their shops, instead of sending RFQ’s by fax as was done in the past. The purpose of the sites, is to allow all authorized vendors the opportunity to offer their best price, against the best offer at the moment, which appears on the site as updated. Auctions are opened for a maximum of 24 hours which makes the site both fast and efficient .
